Read powerful stories of survivors and draw strength and inspiration from their courage. In order to protect the identity of these resilient individuals, we have changed their names and photo but the essence of their stories remains unaltered.
Real Stories
As a victim of coercive control I felt trapped, isolated and powerless. It was having a devastating impact on me and my kids and harming my physical and emotional well-being. Thanks to the incredible support and resources provided by Torchlight, I was able to break free from the cycle of abuse and regain my sense of self.
Sara's Story
The compassionate and knowledgeable Torchlight team helped me understand the dynamics of domestic abuse and provided me with a safe space to share my experiences, as well as some practical tools and strategies to rebuild my life. Through their guidance, I learned to recognise the red flags and set boundaries helping me to reclaim my autonomy.
